Glasswater is a continuation of the river's story. Like the Dram Tree, it marks a moment. Like heart pine, it carries memory. Like the river lights, it guides people safely to gathering, celebration, and return. This is a place shaped by water, work, and welcome - a waterfront venue built to honor Wilmington's living history while standing as one of the Carolinas' most refined addresses for weddings, corporate gatherings, and life's most meaningful moments."

A PURPOSE-BUILT RIVERFRONT EVENT VENUE

SHAPED BY WATER, WORK, and WELCOME

For generations, the Cape Fear River has carried Wilmington's story — its trade, its departures, its returns. Glasswater sits on that same water, in the River Lights community, where the current still moves the way it always has. We didn't set out to build a venue on top of this place. We set out to let it keep speaking.

Water gave us the setting: an open riverfront, a working shoreline, and a horizon that changes with the light. Work gave us the building — raised with intention, finished with the honesty of materials like heart pine that carry their own history in the grain. Welcome is what we do with both. Every space here was made to bring people together and send them home fuller than they arrived.

THREE distinct SETTINGS

  • THE RIVERFRONT DECK

A generous 2,330 square feet of open-air space facing the water — nearly the footprint of the hall itself. Built for wedding ceremonies, cocktail hours, and anything that belongs outdoors, with the river as your backdrop and the light doing the rest.

  • THE RIVERFRONT HALL

Our main indoor space is roughly 3,300 square feet of open floor — about 42 by 78 feet — with walls of windows that run the full length of the room and ceilings rising to nearly twenty feet at the peak. It seats 175 to 200 guests inside, with the exact count shaped by your band or DJ and the layout you envision. The glass keeps the river in view from nearly anywhere in the room, and with dock access on-site, guests can arrive by boat or step out onto the water before the celebration begins.

  • THE COURTYARD LAWN

An adjoining 1,297 square feet of lawn space, — a more intimate setting for ceremonies and gatherings, framed for photographs and made for the moments guests remember. Flowing directly from the deck, it opens up as a natural continuation of the riverfront deck for cocktail hours, giving guests room to spread out between the two.

SPACES TO GATHER BEFORE THE DAY BEGINS

A private bridal suite occupies the second level, with its own balcony and a private en suite bathroom — a calm, elevated place to get ready, share a toast, and take in the view before the doors open. An optional green room is available for family or the groom's party, giving everyone a space of their own as the day comes together.
